Southern songwriter & storyteller.
Silas Caldwell, a rising musician in Nashville, was born and raised in the hills of North Mississippi, immersed in hill country blues from birth. He leads The Magnolia Sound.
Silas’ musical style combines his passion for hill country blues with influences from artists like Patti Smith, Tom Waits, Neil Young, Calexico, and the Stax Records catalog, resulting in his unique sound.
Silas’ live shows include his original songs, featuring conscious lyrics and a nostalgic sound reminiscent of Crazy Horse.
Silas Caldwell’s dedication to preserving and evolving the hill country blues tradition sets him apart.
The Magnolia Sound is an all-encompassing term for the sounds of North Mississippi, which includes the hill country blues from the Holly Springs area, the electric blues sounds of Howlin’ Wolf from West Point, the world-famous Delta blues from the Mississippi Delta, or taking a few notes from the King of Rock N’ Roll, Elvis Presley, from Tupelo.
